Ah, the acronym: WTF. How and why did we land on that? Well, we didn’t actually. Truth be told, our publisher didn’t like our original title. This was our fifth or sixth suggestion and the one everyone finally liked the best so we tested it against a panel of women (you know we would) and it also won out.
WTF is really just a definition for the commonly and perhaps more vulgar phrase of “What The Fuck?” (See Urban Dictionary for more use cases.)
We liked it because it popped. People get it. It stands out. It’s easily spelled. It’s descriptive. And in the right use, borderline angry.
We actually thought of using it WAY more on this site than you actually see. So much so, even we were repulsed and that’s saying something. But still, we wonder what WTF other cheeky ways we could slip it in so be on the lookout for how many instances you find. Email us your answer and WTF, we’ll send you some props if you’re right.
